I was really excited when digital artist, Trevor Attias, emailed me. He had enclosed a piece of his art work that was inspired by one of my creations — i.e. The One Thousand and One Nights botanical scent — and so I wanted to share it with you, too.
I am always delighted when clients email me and say — I’m wearing this or that literary perfume you’ve created, and now you’ve inspired me to read the book... but, to my knowledge, this is the first visual art inspired by my work – and it makes me happy!
I’m now halfway through my super-fun, mega-busy commute to the California Revealed Project in digital preservation at UC Berkeley – the ongoing project can be seen here at the Internet Archives.
And thank you for your Arabesque orders. I have been sending out perfume shipments on Saturdays so feel free to continue emailing me with any queries or desires. The email is email@example.com, and you can refer to my Winter 2017 Perfumes post for current available inventory and pricing.
Here is the link for the 2015 Arabesque Aromas blog that discusses my inspiration for the perfume — the 10th century book One Thousand and One Nights, with more on the scent, clips of poetry from the book, and a piece from Neil Gaiman on the lasting power of stories…
And here is Trevor’s evocative work inspired by the scent “The One Thousand and One Nights.”
